      Pros

Not union. If you’re good at what you do and work safe, you’ll get promoted. We control a lot of our pay with how we perform. Best pay in the area. 4 on/4 off schedule is great. Been here since SDI bought it. Department leadership is solid. We just got a bunch of new supervisors and they’re all pretty good. Lots of opportunities to grow.

      Cons

Shift work can get repetitive. We switch days to nights every week. Some equipment is getting old and breaks down. Seems like it takes forever to get new equipment in.

      Great Company

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great Pay. Great Benefits. They pay you very well and you're only required to do two things. Be a “World Class Supplier” of steel the safest way possible.

      Cons

Long hours occasionally like any mill setting. If you don’t over extend yourself outside of work, this is a lifetime career that will set you up very well for retirement. A lot of people have negative outlooks, because they over extend themselves or rack up more and more bills due to the amount of money they’re making. Control your finances and you’ll be happy. Just because you make great money, doesn’t mean you have to spend it all as soon as you get it.
