What is working from home like at VF?

      VF reviews

      work life balance

      Costing analyst
      Current employee
      Kuala Lumpur
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

flexible working hours, allow work from home, medical benefit covers whole family, annual leaves more than usual, easy access office, fun office environment, really helpful colleague and even outside malaysia colleague.

      Cons

Manager could be bias, quite difficult to get increment and promotion. It is difficult to climb corporate ladder. Upper management is quite difficult to be reach, as there will be some issue to skip the manager acknowledgement.

      Pros

      Cons

Lay offs, pay not equal to job requirements

      Worst employee treatment ever experienced

      Account coordinator
      Current employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

I have a job and something is better than nothing

      Cons

The HR department is the worst as they work from home and never show their face or participate in any process. The company sick policies are inhumane. Management is disgusting because they dont agree with many things but prefer to stay quiet as cash is king and risking losing ability to pay for their big cars is not worth it. Those who suck up to the management will get treated better and will be able to work from home some extra days while others will get punished if they even ask. Surveys are being pushed down the throat but no result or action from filling them in. Discrimination is on the rise in different situations with different people but management is acting like they are blind.

      Red flag

      Analyst
      Current employee
      Kuala Lumpur
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      1) Flexible working arrangement (2D WFH in a week) 2) Flexible working time 3) Healthcare benefit extend to family members 4) Free flow coffee 5) Flexible attire to work

      Cons

      1) HR arrogant 2) HR use scam methods in salary negotiation (initially they will offer you XX amount, and once job offer is given they will give a significantly reduced amount. Happened to several people I know) 3) Americans dont like to define important elements before starting a project. There is lack of procedure, policy and accountability 4) Upper management is not transparent. Just decide and expect employee to go with the flow with no justification 5) Retrenchment "programmes" happening all the time. Massive amount of people got fired 6) The systems used is old, complicated and redundant 7) Company identity - Employees are entitled to 30% discount on company brands (eg Timberland, Kipling, Vans). This discount is insignificant. You can get better deal at premium outlets (> 50% discount) 8) There is not much room for growth in KL. The positions here are stagnant to only senior manager. Other position would be in Singapore

      Pros

Flexible work arrangements. PTO more than most companies

      Cons

Company functions like a start-up even though it's a multinational company. Very poor business planning by management which has led to employees not trusting the leaders and constantly asking if there is going to be more layoffs upcoming.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

From a Contractor's perspective: * Emphasis on safe Agile practices * Compact yet complete team sizes * Engaging and exciting projects * Collaboration with global teammates * Flexible remote work schedule * My compensation seemed fair

      Cons

From a Contractor's perspective: * Attempts at Safe Agile practices results in inconsistent adherence * PI Planning is quite chaotic * Frequent team member reassignments with minimal notice * Lack of feedback on performance * Several layoffs over the years * Experienced a layoff midway in the middle of a renewed contract * While it might seem trivial, there's no company swag to showcase pride in our workplace

      Proceed carefully

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Annual leave, flexible working hours, staff discounts.

      Cons

This company allows a lot of toxicity to continue instead of addressing it at the right moment. Leadership seems primarily focused on job preservation at any cost, rather than on long-term progress for VF. The constant cycle of firing and re-hiring is confusing and disrupts stability.
