Pros
Work from home, has standard benefits.
Cons
When I started working at VT, the company seemed to be focused on people. When the company said, "help people learn," it felt like we actually wanted to do that. Once the company went public, important positions were eliminated, including a sizable chunk of marketing and customer service, as well as the staff that were the point of contact for tutors. The marketing continues to advertise that Varsity offers in-person tutoring, customer service staff are required to lie to current customers, and the tutors have absolutely no support and often have no idea who to contact. The way upper management operates, you would think no one has ever run a company before and they have to make everything up as they go along. They ignore any and all advice. Right now, they are shocked that sales are not growing. They recently hiked their prices in what is likely going to be a recession. Upper sales management is raising their expectations higher and higher, to the point that few points can hit their goals without substantial overtime. Because so many people have been leaving, they are pulling sales reps that moved to other departments back into sales. Nobody is happy, the attacks from management are constant.
