What is paid time off like at eXp Realty?

Pros

I'm a fairly tenured employee and it's been amazing to see the company grow over the years. We went from having zero benefits to an extremely competitive package (the unlimited PTO and flexibility involved from being a remote company are amazing!). There is never a dull moment around here.

Cons

Because we are growing so quickly, there is always more work than time in a day. People in different time zones also make for a very long work day- it's hard to unplug at 5pm when there's an expectation of always being available.

Does eXp Realty offer dental insurance?

Pros

We have a great environment to interact with people around the world through our virtual world. We have strong growth and change happening across the company in every department. The benefits are quite solid with medical, dental, vision, matching 401k and stock options. The leadership is focused on transparency and communicating to the team monthly through company wide staff meetings and quarterly town halls.

Cons

It is harder to build connections with members outside of your immediate team unless you make an effort to get to know people. It takes more time and focus to make it happen.

Advice to Management

Find ways to make real life events or virtual events to have people "connect" to others outside of their departments.

Does eXp Realty offer family leave?

Pros

Remote Work Good Work Hours Paid Time Off Insurance 401K

Cons

No Staff Appreciation Poor Management No Human Resources Support Available No Regular Raises Unfair promoting and hiring practices Rude Leadership Too Many Team Leads and Managers who do not assist with answering questions or training properly Unrealistic expectations Micro Managing No gratitude Pass the buck culture No maternity leave Costly Insurance Low Pay Unequal Pay (staff members working the same position with the same credentials may have a difference of up 20K a year in salary)

Advice to Management

Managers should be trained on how to communicate effectively with staff. Scheduling one on ones to go through the less than 1% of mistakes made with NO positive feedback is not good management or good relationship building. There are too many Team Leaders and staff doing special projects. The funds used to pay Team Leaders could be used to give dedicated employees annual raises. Less Team Leaders and more staff handling the volume of transactions means less overtime and more work life balance. Checking in with an employee is more than pointing out minor mistakes. Everyone deserves respect regardless of the persons job title. Promote people that are kind and positive to everyone not just the people they are required to be kind to. Management should have work life balance. If the office hours are from 9am to 5pm managers should NOT be messaging staff after hours so when they return to work they have messages to clear out from a manager who works in the evening. This a great place for real estate agents to work BUT what about the staff that support the agents and the growth of the company? What about employee success and employee value? Who is obsessed with the success of the support staff? Not management or the CEO.

No maternity leave
