I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 3M (Minneapolis, MN) in Oct 2017
Interview
Interviewed on campus. Was called back two days later and set up an on-site interview. Went to Minneapolis with 30 other candidates, toured the HQ and interview with two more 3M employees.

Question 1
Describe a time that you had to handle and analyze a large amount of data
Very casual on campus interview. I applied through campus recruiting and half of the interview was just discussing what the job entailed, and where there were openings. The downside is that you have to apply after the interview a separate time to the various plants you'd like to work at. The time can vary depending on the need.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at 3M in Nov 2013
Interview
One fly-out interview broken into three segments, two behavioral interviews and one tour. Very straight forward and traditional. 90% "Tell us about a time..." questions. One major idea that we kept on touching on was time management and tools for productivity. Most everyone was very "engineering-esque" if that makes sense. All were welcoming and amicable. Can't complain.
