Met recruiter at a career fair, received a phone call to schedule an interview, had phone interview. The woman who interviewed me remained my program supervisor so I got to know her well.

I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at 3M (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2017
Interview
Got selected at a national conference. An engineering manager ended up interviewing me on a 1:1 basis. She was really respectful. She followed a set of questions she already had on a piece of paper. So that everyone being interviewed on the same day were to get the same questions.

Main questions asked were behavioral questions. They wanted to know what were you passionate about.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at 3M (Minneapolis, MN) in Oct 2017
Interview
Thirty candidates met in the Minneapolis area. There was a reception in the evening where they told us more about the program and we met others who had worked in the O2 program. The next day some of us interviewed in the morning and others in the afternoon. When we weren't interviewing we heard from employees and learned about the mission etc.
