Tortuous and ultimately time-wasting process - first phone screen lasted only 20 minutes and that included 10 minutes of my questions; interviewer came across as quite bored and uninterested (it turned out he left the company shortly after). About 3-4 weeks after that, I was invited for an on-site interview (HR & hiring MD). Except the HR rep I was supposed to be interviewed by was on holiday that day. The other HR contact name I had been given had left the company, so we had to contact the MD directly and he came down about 20 minutes later. He was at least apologetic and after another 30 minute wait I did have an hour's interview with him. That went well, but he suggested that I was better suited for a similar role in a different team and he would try to get that sorted without jumping through more hoops than necessary. There then followed a phone interview with another HR person (which ended up being just a verbal confirmation that I was now applying for this other role). And then *another* HR phone interview after a week, this time a proper competency-based call which went well (I was told). I was then told they would organise the next MD-level interview. About 3-4 weeks later(!), I was advised I had to start the entire process again. This involved another phone interview, this time with a junior consultant where we went through my CV in detail, and I learnt a lot more about the actual role. It seemed to go well. The (thankfully) final response was a negative, as they did not feel there was a role for which I currently suited... In a nutshell, this must have been one of, if not the worst/least efficient/most time-wasting job application experience in my 18 years' of professional experience and I still have trouble believing a supposedly professional company such as Accenture was 'capable' of it. Truly pathetic. When I first started out in consultancy many years ago Accenture was often the butt of colleagues' jokes; I now begin to understand why.
