I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Acumen
Interview
I found Acumen through an on campus job link. After applying online and sending several follow up emails, I was contacted back and asked for a coding sample. After submitting the sample, I was scheduled for a phone interview several weeks later. The phone interview was pretty technical, they asked me to explain all my projects and course work so far in statistics and numerical analysis. They grilled me on specific methods in statistics. And rigorously critiqued my project work in regression analysis. I was able to answer the questions pretty well in my opinion and it was a subject and project I felt confident in. After no response for a couple weeks, I decided to call Acumen on an update. They then emailed me the next day rejecting me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very detailed questions on my regression analysis project. How did you eliminate variables? How did you avoid multicolinearity? Are you familiar with instrumental variables? Describe the significance of your results?
Very quick chat with HR, then had two one-on-ones with mid-level programmers from two different projects.
Three meetings were planned, but on the day I was told due to schedule changes, one couldn’t make it, and I didn’t end up meeting the names listed for the other meetings either.
From initial application to receiving offer was about 5 months.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Acumen (Burlingame, CA)
Interview
The interview process was three rounds, quite easy, including written test for data analysis, phone interview with an analyst, and then three back-to-back interviews with the current employees. These interviews each lasted 30 minutes.

Can you walk me through the process of how you interpreted the dataset?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Acumen
Interview
The whole process was great. I also communicated well with the interviewer. The first round of interviews was to discuss the findings from the dataset. You need to be familiar with knowing every step while you are writing this test.

Question 1
Introduce yourself, Why did you choose Acumen, how you clean the data, etc.
