First contacted via email by an anonymous "Admin" figure inviting me to interview. After accepting the interview invite, they sent over a brief assessment (in the form of three short SAT practice tests, 20 questions each) to complete using readings they emailed. I submitted my answers to the SAT practice tests via Google Docs.
A couple days later, I received an email from "Admin" to inform me that they were "impressed" by my practice test scores, and further asked for my availability to schedule a video interview. I replied with my availability; they confirmed the date and time I had given them, and say they'd follow up with a Zoom link.
I waited two business days to receive a follow up email with a Zoom link; had to reach out AGAIN to make sure the interview was still happening. The founder, Julianna, actually replied herself to confirm the interview date/time once again, but provided me with the necessary Zoom info this time.
The interview itself was fine; a little awkward. I got the impression that Julianna had been conducting the interviews on her own and was burnt out. She seemed tired and bit disinterested; she gave very short replies, or little acknowledgement, to the majority of the answers I gave. The line of questioning felt more interrogative than productive; overall, it seemed like she wanted to get the interview done as quickly as possible.
After the bulk of the interview questions had been presented (about 25 mins), Julianna asked what questions I might have, my availability, my salary (hourly) requirements, and whether I preferred remote or in-person tutoring. After she answered my questions, she thanked me for interviewing and told me they'd get back to me the next week.
Never received a follow-up; no confirmation, no rejection. Assuming I'm ghosted, as of now. The job posting indicated that they were "hiring urgently" so the fact that they couldn't even be bothered to reject me is irksome.
