Tell us about yourself ? How do you handle upset customers?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Airgas (Independence, OH) in May 2026
Interview
Was a few minutes late due to difficulty finding the location as I was unfamiliar with the location. Got to level the business was on and when trying to sign the book log I was met with an extremely unhappy guy who brought me to the room for the meeting. I explained calmy why I was a bit late and he was not accepting my apology at all. Met with 3 guys and 1 girl and I also explained and wholeheartedly apologized and just as the previous guy, they did not care or even say that it was okay. The feeling right off the bat was cold and unforgiving from beginning to end. There was no laughter, and it was strictly 100% professional.
After the meeting, they said I would hear something back from them regrading the interview and I never heard a single word from them, the staffing agency, or even a single email saying I was rejected for the position.
I was led to the elevator by the same guy from earlier and he was just as cold and unhappy as he was previously. I got in the elevator and he pressed the button so quick he never once reached his hand out to shake my hand to thank me for my time today or to even have a good weekend.

Question 1
Give an example of a difficult situation and how it was resolved.
I applied online. I interviewed at Airgas (Independence, OH) in May 2024
Interview
The interview was overall a smooth process. It consists of an initial phone screen, followed by an in-person interview. The questions were pretty standard.
My issue came afterwards. I got the job, got excited, and was really looking forward to working there, but the company they use for background checks was frustrating. It kept telling me my documents weren't accepted. I NEVER had any issues with BCs before as I have a clean record, so I have no idea what the heck went wrong. I tried contacting the BC company's customer support multiple times, but unfortunately, they were no help at all. They just kept repeating the same automated response.
In the end, I just made up some excuse and declined the job offer, even though I didn't want too at all. It was such an upsetting experience. Especially since I've been looking for a job since October.
