Interview
Was referred by an Akamai employee for a solutions architect position in Denver office.
Round 1 - HR round
Basic HR questions, basic technical questions on DNS and HTTP(S), customer facing experience details.
Round 2 - Hiring Manager
Discussion revolved around my previous work ex. Technical questions about DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, web page requests and responses etc.
Round 3 - Onsite
5 interviews onsite.
1) with Hiring Manager - Technical
2) with Senior SA - Technical
3) with Principal SA - technical + lot of “what would you do if a customer said” type situational questions
4) with SA II - Technical + puzzles for checking how you think out of the box
5) Panel interview - Panel consisted of 6 members from hiring team all senior level employees. Had to a present whiteboard session a technical topic of your choice for 1 hour. Lot of questions on details of topic presented.
The whole process took 35-40 days.
Since I don't care at all about money, I asked for the exact same salary I currently earn, instead of asking for 20% more than my current salary, which is what literally everybody does.
The recruiter accused me of thinking only about money and made clear no assessment of my skills would have been performed in order to establish if I'm worth that salary or not.
The day after I got an email stating that I was not selected.

Interview
First round is a screening by in-house recruiter, second round consists of an interview with a manager and technical interview with someone who's currently in the same (or similar) role. Final round is a presentation for a group of Akamai representatives.
