I was asked to complete an online only coding challenge through a recruiter as a first step (first red flag). The coding challenge was to take approximately two hours of my time. Note: This is significantly longer than ANY OTHER companies challenge I have taken to date. Including companies Amazon (2nd red flag). After putting it off for a few weeks (I frankly had more promising companies I wanted to pursue), and knew nothing about Algomi except they were demanding I take a long test from them, my recruiter finally badgered me into taking it. The online test itself is fairly unremarkable and not very difficult. it was 3 questions, my first two compiled and passed all of the extended tests the company had built in. The third problem compiled but failed one test. I quickly figured it out -- a misplaced grouping of "(" , so i started to move two parens around and time ran out. I thought "no biggie, they'll see it was done and correct." Fast forward to a few days later and they told my recruiter that they will pass and that i scored a 38??!!!. Not sure how 2/3 correct could be a 38..... I think they were just bitter i kept putting off their test. Based on what i saw this is probably a poorly run company full of idiots. I would not waste your time here.
