I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ally Financial (Charlotte, NC) in Sep 2023
Interview
Just 1 round. 30 min. Took 3 weeks to set up the interview after a phone call from a recruiter. The interviewer was unprofessional. Did not show his face. Did not introduce himself. Just start to ask questions.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ally Financial in Oct 2021
Interview
The first interview was a discussion on my background. This went well.
The next interview happened a few days later.
It felt like a hazing. The group consisted of a main interviewer and 5 or 6 others. There was a chaotic period of technical and behavioral questions being asked by different people who may or may not have identified themselves. Most of the interviewers were audio only even though I was on video. I'd guess ten to fifteen questions were asked. One person asked me what question I would ask myself, then asked me to answer that question.
The coding challenge was next. It was presented on a sandbox site and I was allowed to search the web if needed. Part of the code was already done. While trying to acclimate myself to the finished code and the written instructions, I was rushed to complete it while the voice(s?) kept interrupting with leading questions, more instructions, and snide remarks.
I was expected to (all at once) :
1. do the task
2. listen to instructions
3. discuss what I was thinking
4. state what I was searching the web for - definitely felt their wrath for this one.
I was flustered and deflated by the end of the interview. Someone said it was nice to meet me, then the call abruptly disconnected.
As a person of color, I have experienced various degrees of disrespect and negative attitudes on interviews. No difference here.
