      Integration Engineer (Robotics) Interview

      May 21, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Robotics in Apr 2014

      Interview

      1. Application was through a employee referral. 2. Recruiter contacted me via phone (roughly 30 mins) and spoke in detail about the following: a. Team and Company culture at KIVA. b. Asked in detail about my current job profile and why I was looking to change jobs. c. Asked me some quick (rapid fire) questions on UNIX/LINUX commands. I was not expecting any technical questions for the first round of interview since the recruiter was in HR. He helped me out on a few commands that I did not know. d. I asked him some questions about the team and the job profile and he provided all the information, plus some more. e. Told me that I will be contacted by the Integrations Team manager. 3. The Recruiter setup time for a 45 minute interview with the Integrations Team manager. 4. The Manager contacted me and we via phone (roughly 40 mins) and we spoke in detail about the following: a. Describe your current job profile? b. She then told me that the position requires 30% travel and if I was open to it - I replied, Yes. c. She told me to think about the various issues that an Integration Engineer might face while working with robots. I threw in 4-5 scenarios and she kept pushing me to come up with more (I think she was looking for some specific scenarios that I did not come up with). Then she asked me how I would encounter them and what would be my next steps. 5. I was told that the Recruiter would contact me in a couple of days with more information. 6. Recruiter contacted me after a month and a half and said that the position does not fit my qualifications (I am currently working as a Software Engineer with 4+ years experience).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

In our first communication, the HR/Recruiter asked me some UNIX/LINUX commands AND what commands I would use to do certain tasks. I was not expecting any technical questions for the first round of interview since the recruiter was in HR.
