I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon Robotics (New York, NY) in Apr 2022
Interview
After applying, I had two interviews - a research interview and a coding interview. Although they could be scheduled in either order, I had the research interview first. The coding interview was scheduled a couple of days later. I heard back from HR after a week.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The research interview was mainly about my research publications but I also got questions on fundamentals surrounding my area of research. For the coding round, the question was on the level of a leetcode medium.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Robotics (North Reading, MA) in Apr 2025
Interview
Easy coding assessment, followed by one interview with deep dive into my research work and then rapid fire on many technical topics in robotics (controls, planning, trajectory optimization, etc.) to understand what I did and do not know
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Amazon Robotics (North Reading, MA) in Mar 2025
Interview
Two rounds: first asking about generative model fundamentals (encoder vs decoder-only, ViT architecture, diffusion / latent diffusion). Second asked about my projects, why I did A/B, experience working with teammates
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain the difference between GPT / BERT style models. Why sinusoidal functions for PE? Explain the diffusion objective / what advantages does latent diffusion offer
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Robotics (Boston, MA) in Mar 2024
Interview
Was a nice chat with a scientist in the department. Asked about my research and asked a toy problem on how I would attempt to solve it. Ended up not getting the offer because the toy problem was outside my area of expertise.

Question 1
How would you make use of your research in the area of multi-robot coordination?
