Got a phone call that the company found my resume on Monster and wanted to interview for an entry-level position. I wanted to be open-minded, so I opted to interview. I chatted with a manager who told me about the company. The offer was for sales, but not door-to-door sales. He described to me that AIL reaches out to huge businesses and sends pamphlets to all their employees once they negotiated a contract with said business. If the employees are interested in getting life insurance, they call the number at the bottom which is you. I was glad to hear it wasn't door-to-door, but the training process is what turned me away. 1-2 months on a team training, which is NOT paid. You are responsible for paying for all the training materials and to get licensed to sell insurance in your state. In FL, it was $150-200. Then, you have to MEMORIZE this giant packet/ insurance speal word-for-word. You are tested on this. Also, the hours are long because "if a potential customer wants insurance and they work full time, you'll have to accommodate their schedule", which I guess makes sense.
Not a typical "door to door" sales scam, but something I was not interested in. For salary, they offer base salary or just commission. Most people take commission, apparently, but I didn't make it that far to negotiate.
