I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Anson Funds (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2026

2 round interview process- The first round was simple accounting technicals and mainly behavioural. Mainly walking through specific experience on my resume, and some others like why are you interested in working at Ason etc... The second round was a stock pitch. a little more advanced, lots of pushback on assumptions and logic.

Very hard interview (as expected). My issue was a slight lack of proper preparation, but overall I was asked extremely specific questions about the stock I pitched, that I was not prepared for. I messed up a valuation question as well, and the interviewer ended the interview after 10 minutes.

Interview was completely non-technical and only way to answer it effectively is actually researching the company, and coming up with possible questions they can as you. I'd recommend reading up on their previous investments and their more well known (shorts) investment strategy.
