- HR interview (phone)
- Technical interview (phone)
- Design project and presentation (generation over the course of the week, submitted for review)
- Flew down to HQ for in person interviews over course of 2 days
- Interviews were mostly technical white board Q&A's. Not very personal or personable.
- Design presentation to large group
Overall, it was intensive and was a good gauge of mechanical aptitude. There were only 2 out of about 16 interviews that were more culture/personnel fit assessments. The work would be intellectually satisfying, but it was obvious that there was no work/life balance and most of the interviewers seemed stressed and busy doing something else. Several were on their phones while I was at the whiteboard working on solutions.
Great experience from start to end. From application to informal offer in 5 weeks.
First interview directly with the manager, then panel interview with 6 different employees, from managers to technical staff from different angles (different teams involved).
Though I studied for the interviews really hard the questions were all relative to logic application of previous knowledge, that I didn't need to study for.
Kind people who put me at easy from the beginning.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
From all panelists a twist of the question "why apple?" And also given I'm moving away from management to get into technical contributor "why doing that?"
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Apple in Nov 2024
Interview
Got scheduled for interview with project manager. He didn't come to interview. Mailed HR and Rescheduled again, interviewer came 10 mins late and not apologized.
Asked couple of technical questions and behaved like not interested in interviewing (seeing somewhere else, yawning and stuff when I'm explaining).
Just don't interview if you are not interested. You are just an another company on this planet. Respect jobseekers. Not gonna accept even if I get an offer.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2024
Interview
The technical interview for the Apple watch design team was rather challenging. They basically have you draw and design a new component on the spot. I think the interview was fair overall as the role was specifically for a product design engineer.
