I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Cupertino, CA) in Nov 2023
Interview
This was an interview with the hiring manager. Despite a fairly exciting description of the role, and despite hearing from multiple sources that a technical program manager title at Apple might have substantial agency and the ability to participate in the scientific community, it rapidly became clear that the role was more for a mid-level project manager and the questions I was asked were fairly basic project management questions. I didn't proceed to further interviews or an offer as it was clear on both sides that the role wasn't what I was looking for.
Several layers of interviews beginning with HR, individual, panel, and presentation. There was nothing special or different than many companies are now using - the process takes over a month.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Apple
Interview
Two half hour phone interviews and then a full day of interviews with 6-10 people in person. Some were with 2 people and some were 1:1. One guy just gave me a tour because he knew how long those days were and he just wanted to give me a chance to get some air and exercise.

Interview
6 separate rounds each with a different stakeholder. Each focused on a different component of program management with a heavy emphasis on culture fit. The process was easy but very exhausting given the number of interviews.
