Hiring process took more than one year
Lots of follow ups
Interviews were about general questions and situations that managers face in their stores
Questions I asked were not answered to me due to how secretive Apple is therefore I left the interviews with a doubt
The interviewer wasn't aware of the big companies I worked for in the Middle East, think she was new to the market
She sounded way too excited to meet me (fake excited) and really excited while she was asking me questions- thought that was a bit too much considering my age and vast experience in the retail business
Apparently I did not pass the interviews even though I managed high volume stores in terms of no of people, traffic, revenue etc and funny enough I was offered a position as sales!
I find it ridiculous how Apple is underestimating people having 10 years experience as store managers offering them a sales position in store- that makes me think you are just a number there and on top of that people development does not exist.
How can you mention people growth and 'íts all about our people''when you underestimate people with vast experience -internationally and in the local market- people who studied abroad under scholarships, who speak 4 foreign languages, who have the experience of opening big brands in the UAE market. On top of that I noticed that 90% of the Apple managers are British nationalities which is beyond ridiculous. I actually appreciate them, the way they work etc but whats the deal with that?
Really bad experience overall during the interviews and during store visits- where the greeting was not happening, nobody interacted with me asking me if I needed assistance, unless you attend the workshops where you can spend one hour learning about how to use their products
