Very easy going. People were very kind and wanted to know what you bring to the table. Seminar is expected for this role. The employees expect this talk to demonstrate your scientific skill set and the way you think. The whole process should take about half of a day.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Aptevo Therapeutics
Interview
3 phases:
Hiring Manager phone screen for 45 min, followed by 1/2 day on-site panel interviews which included senior leadership and HR, then reference calls that apparently lasted up to 45 minutes (?!). No presentation, which I appreciate very much.
The interviewers were friendly and amiable, and I enjoyed meeting everyone. The workers seemed to genuinely like each other, and work well together. It wasn't the most sophisticated process, and interviewers still had some kinks to work out. There were a lot of repeated questions, no facilities tour, etc. I do wish they had been more decisive before bringing me in for a half day - for the final round, there were still 4 candidates.

Question 1
General technical questions on the area of expertise; yes/no questions on having select skills; a few extremely basic scientific knowledge foundational questions that seemed overly rudimentary per the role.
