I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Arista Networks (Vancouver, BC) in Feb 2022
Interview
Recruiter call - 30 min
First interview - 1.5 hrs
Second and third - 2 hrs
Usual initial screen. First round consisted of writing code in vim. Went very smooth, talked about experiences and then got to ask one of the devs about their experience currently at Arista.
Second/Third round went terrible. It was a 2 hour back to back technical round at the end of the day.
Interviewer was late, scrambled to setup environment while clearly not interested asked me surface level questions. We rushed through the problem while he kept asking me questions upon questions on stuff irrelevant to the problem, and about my experiences. Any question I asked about what he wanted for the api/things to account for was met with condescending remarks and another question.
Third round was right after second also started late. Somehow I made it to the final round. The interview was disinterested and was keen on asking tricks of "find the bug" with C strings. He got frustrated as I was trying to find a bug, solved it for me and then called it quits. once it was end of the day.
Two minutes later, I was told a "I wont be getting the offer" by who I the found out was the hiring manager, whom showed up late, and they dropped off the call quickly before I could ask if there was anything I could improve upon.
Mentioned this to the recruiter and was promptly ghosted.
Really poor interview experience to be frank, especially since they reached out and shotgunned through the process. Churn and burn I guess.

Interview
Had a 15 minute chat with the HR person, she started off by saying, "by dissecting my resume, she did not think I was a good fit for the role and would not move me forward. Then why did she setup the meeting?! Absolute waste of time. She went on to say because I did not want to relocate right away, interviewing with the hiring team was not possible. The job description said REMOTE!

Interview
basics of c printfs. The patterns used in clg days was a bit confusing for a 15 yrs exp person like me. Dont know if its of any use on daily work as a SDE. Then BST programs 30mins 3 programs. Had written 2 and half and its correct for sure. Did ask for 5 extra mins to complete. But was denied.
Keep strong in basics and expect interviewer a SE asian to be strict on time. I thought i would be in for 2nd given i answered most of them. But was rejected.
