They first about hardware my design background (experience with PCBs and particular softwares used to design them), then with firmware, then with lab equipment. They then moved onto the technical question afterwards.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was given a diagram with a signal generator generating a PWM signal feeding into a low-pass filter with some capacitor and resistance values. Then this was connected to an analog to digital converter where I was told it was not working properly. I was then asked how I would debug it.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Arkalumen (Ottawa, ON) in Jan 2024
Interview
The guy asking the interview was really friendly and tried to help you finish your thought process in longer questions but the questions were really difficult for a 2nd year student
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They showed a picture of a very complicated micro controller with different parts and said its not working, how do you debug it. They also asked me to create an interrupt service routine to detect when the signal of a square wave reaches a certain length by using different bits and flipflops

Interview
Applied through university job board, was contacted by the research and development department and was asked to set an interview date. Interview was conducted over Zoom with 2 research and development engineers.
