The interview lasted approximately 2.5 hours, which was significantly longer than expected. During this time, I was frequently left waiting while the interviewer stepped out to smoke, disrupting the flow of the interview.
Throughout the meeting, the discussion repeatedly shifted away from the job role and focused on personal topics unrelated to the position. I was asked many questions about my private life instead of my professional skills or qualifications.
During the interview, the interviewer attempted physical contact twice, which was inappropriate in a professional interview setting. In addition, there were suggestive and uncomfortable statements, including comments implying personal closeness outside of work.
I was also asked to be “romantic” and questioned about how I would make him personally happy if I were hired, rather than being evaluated based on my ability to perform the role professionally.
Overall, the interview crossed clear professional boundaries and did not meet the standards of a respectful or safe hiring process. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise candidates to proceed with caution.
