Not to discount that they do give non-Ashoka a try as well.
It is generally very chill. Ashoka has always been a liberal campus. Not much work pressure. You can also apply to these job roles under any department of the university.

Need subject knowledge at the graduate level as well as preferred research experience. The interview is technical and methods oriented. Was asked questions on the theoretical side for Econometrics, as well as questions on my research.
