      Regional Account Manager Interview

      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Asurion

      Interview

Very pleasant recruiter from Georgia. Talked a lot about background, career path goals, some situation questions. Recruiter was unsure if my previous experience would be a fit (concern about staying within the "box" of requirements) and needed to follow up with me regarding next steps. Was fairly quick to continue preliminary interviewing. Next step was a meeting with 2 managers in person. "interview" was more focused about team fit and values. A Skype interview was conducted with the executive manager which I felt was personal yet distracting. However was pleasant overall. After all of the early dialogue, further discussion or communication was essentially non-existent. Somewhat annoying when other options at other companies are on the table and needing attention. When decisions were finally made, the sign-up and process was very long and process driven. Many steps could have been streamlined at the beginning.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Asurion (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2020

      Interview

Long. Constant rescheduling. Started with recruiter phone screening, interview with hiring Director, another interview with peer Director, then panel interview over 2 and half months. Final panel interview required conducting a 45 minutes powerpoint presentation to 4 individuals and 15 minutes of questions. The nature of asking for a 30/60/90 day business plan presentation in an Relationship management role is so archaic when business decisions are based on strength of relationships and what's happening on the account you manage, none of which you hold or know. After having a ton of industry experience, internal and external referrals, the hiring Director ghosted me and just had the position reposted without notifying me of the final decision. Contacted recruiter and she stated they selected another candidate which was a lie and confirmed with her they reposted the role and starting all over. Very unprofessional and absurdly long interview process.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Asurion in Oct 2019

      Interview

The process consisted of five total interviews: the recruiter, a potential peer, the hiring manager, the peer of the hiring manager and the hiring manager’s leader. All came off as extremely genuine and made each interview feel more like a conversation. All interviews were either over the phone (2) or via a video conference (3).
