In total it lasted about a month and one week. The process started where I reached out via LinkedIn to the original job poster for the role, and had an extremely fast response back. Upon this initial engagement I was extremely impressed by the rapid response and excited for the possibility to join Auki. First actual interview with CD felt really good, talked for over an hour and was given a test with some vector art to have free reign on of direction to complete with in a week. Upon submitting this test I didn't get a response and that exchange felt off. So I took action and followed up, a few times, which triggered a meeting with a very nice HR person. Some things about the company were explained such as: time differences between Hong Kong and how they like to hire in EU rather than US for this reason, benefits which they give a 100 dollar stipend for exercise, and that the contract is as an "advisor." It ended where it was explained they were still waiting for other tests to be completed. 2 weeks went by and I followed up again and received and email the next day explaining they went with another candidate. Overall I think I did get dragged through the mud a bit with the selection process and the time could have been cut in half. However, I respect a startup like Auki and I know they're trying to navigate some muddy waters with the Metaverse/web3 industry as it's a bit volatile at the moment as I write this. But they have a seemingly promising future and I wish them the very best on their journey. One thing I would like to see different from them is diversifying from retail.
