      Human Resources Generalist Interview

      Mar 15, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Phoenix, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Avnet (Phoenix, AZ) in Jun 2016

      Interview

The interview process from application to offer took about 5 weeks with consistent communication from my recruiter. 1 phone screening with the recruiter, in person interview with 3 separate people (Hiring manager, 2 team members), then a final interview with the VP. Interviews were very conversational and consisted with behavioral questions. Got a call from my recruiter after 2 days with the offer. It was a quick and pleasant process overall. I really appreciate the communication and status updates every week. The hiring manager even called me the Friday before I started my new role to touch base- that was a nice touch!

      No offer

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Avnet in Feb 2018

      Interview

I received an email within a week of applying to schedule an interview. They were really nice when I got there and I didn't have to wait at all. The hiring manager showed me in to a conference room and introduced me to two interviewers who were already doing the job I'd be doing. They took turns asking me questions from a list that were routine. Judging by their disinterest in my responses, I got the impression that they already had hired someone and were just going through the motions. BIG time waster for all involved. When I didn't hear back from anyone a week after the interview, I followed up with the hiring manager via email. And I'm still waiting for a response four days later. I'm surprised that a company this well-known treats candidates so poorly and unprofessionally.
