      Registered Psychiatric Nurse Interview

      Jun 19, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Vancouver, BC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BC Children's Hospital (Vancouver, BC)

      Interview

Initially, I had 1 interview over the phone. Lasted 10-15 mins, and I was asked general questions such as strengths/weaknesses, why do you want to work here, what are some challenges you think you’ll have, where do you see yourself in 5 years. Then the in-person interview process took about 45 minutes-1 hour. There were 2 ppl interviewing me, both from different units, they were very friendly. I was asked about 25 questions. They gave me a list of the questions so I could get a snapshot of what they’d be asking. Most of them were scenario questions. But it’s also important to know how to conduct MSE on children, your psych medications and trauma-informed practice.
