I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Babbel (New York, NY) in November 2015.
Interview
Had phone interview with recruiter.
Had skype interview with UX manager.
Had in-person interview with USA general manager.
The phone interview went okay - I mostly babbled (<-get it?!) a bit too much, but the recruiter really liked me, so immediately said she would set up a phone call with the UX manager over in Germany. It took us a couple of weeks to connect due to holidays and sickness, but the skype call went really well. My in-person interview really revealed to me how much they were really looking for a Market Researcher rather than a User Experience Researcher, and when the recruiter called to tell me as much, I wasn't surprised to be turned down (given my lack of market research experience).
Overall, it was a good process and the company seemed to be really awesome. I just ended up not being a fit for what they needed.

The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Babbel (New York, NY).
Interview
Skype interview was short and atypical. Not many questions were asked and it was mainly the interviewer talking. He said he saw a fit and there was a possibility that I may need another interview. He said he would get back to me in maximum 24 hours. He said that 4 times during our talk.
Weeks passed and nothing. Tried writing the guy who interviewed me but he never answered. Suddenly, I got a template email with simply a rejection, no further explanations and no further answer.
Can't take this company seriously after this.

Interview
HR phone call that was promising, but set up false expectations. The coding challenge did not match what was discussed in the phone call. Turned out to be disappointing.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Babbel (Berlin (Germany)) in July 2017.
Interview
Video call with a recruiter, Interviewer was very difficult to understand. Wasn't interested in having a conversation, just moving as quickly as possible through a set of pre defined generic questions. Couldn't answer any questions on the role. Did not even interview me for the role I applied for as they weren't sure whether I would fit, and interviewed me for a role I did not want to apply for.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Babbel (Berlin (Germany)).
Interview
I had a call with a HR, it lasted 20min and it was just a screening call. I then had an interview with 2 other managers for about 2h. I had a few business cases questions but nothing difficult, questions about my understanding of the business model of Babbel, questions to make sure that I know how marketing works. It went smoothly and relatively quickly.
Interview Questions
Negotiation
Tough even though employees in Berlin have a very negotiation power

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Babbel (Berlin (Germany)) in February 2018.
Interview
I had a very brief talk in the phone about my past experiences. Then I was sent a coding assignment to complete in 48 hours, which I delivered using best practices and really modern technologies (ES6 classes + modules, babel, webpack, postcss, mobile first, I mean, really good stuff). I haven't heard from them in 3 weeks. After asking my recruiter about it (a couple times, because I would not get a reply) I just got an automated response saying that they would not move to the next step. It was a really unorganized and poor experience and I sincerely hope that this is not the way that this company treats their employees.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Babbel (Berlin (Germany)) in October 2016.
Interview
It was a smooth and the most pleasant interview process I've ever had. First, there was a phone interview. Then, I was invited to an on site interview, which consisted of multiple rounds. I got an office tour, had a round with the Head of Accounting, then I was interviewed by another two members of the team, after that I was left alone to work on a test task for half an hour. After a wrap up I was told, I'll hear from them soon. The very same day I got a phone call and a job offer. I was really impressed how well-organized and professional the entire process was.

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Babbel (Berlin (Germany)).
Interview
I felt like the recruiter was distracted or didn't care so much. There were some technical problems with the connection and the recruiter assured me that I was the "only one he's had this issue with", so I felt a little weird about that. I received an unsolicited suggestion on what I need to fix in my resume. I felt like they didn't even ask me anything. At the end they just over explained what will happen next telling me how they have to talk me over with their colleagues and go over what they liked and disliked about me, and fill out this post-interview survey about how they felt about the interview with me. and I was just thinking like wow I don't need to know all of this information. my overall impression was that they were underprepared. I figured if I got this impression from a team lead, this wasn't a person I wanted to work under.

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Babbel (Berlin (Germany)) in September 2014.
Interview
I was contacted by their HR, planned the Skype call. Was asked general questions, and general technical questions, that couldn't really be answered objectively but rather in a vague manner.
I was given the impression the feedback would be good, only to get a non-personalized, generic, boring, negative reply, to which I answered asking for more information as to why I didn't get the job as I fulfilled all the criteria, and never got an answer.
