very thorough multi-part competency interviews (over 10 hours worth) give the bank a good chance to assess you and for you to judge your future colleagues. Competencies include control environment, communication skills, technical and business skills. These are followed by a detailed biographical interview (similar to CIDS). Interviewers will be peers and seniors from across the bank (not just the division you are joining)

Over 10 rounds of interviews including a technical interview, a SIDS interview and interviews with three members if the IBEC.
The SIDS interview is a requirement of all ED and MD candidates. Its a panel interview that is a minimum of three hours in length. It goes chronologically from school all the way through your career and forensically understands why you made the career decisions you did and assesses whether what you have put on your CV is accurate.
