I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bath & Body Works (Brooklyn, NY) in Oct 2013
Interview
Bath and Body Works came to my school to do group interviews for college students who were interested in becoming an employee at B&BW. I was a little nervous but I wanted a job so badly so I knew that I was going to do what it took to stand out as much as possible! The interviewers were soo cool! Like they made it seem as if they've known you forever. They talked so casually and made you feel so comfortable. I was nervous but once they said what the group interview was going to be about and how it was basically like an "open discussion" I felt less tense. I'm very talkative and friendly so I made sure that I fed off of everything that everyone said, made sure I did a little research on the store... not too much, I literally just looked up the store policy which was helpful because he asked and I answered because nobody knew and he seemed pretty impressed. The male interviewer liked sushi and when I introduced myself and included that in there and he loved that lol. I made sure to tell the other interviewer which was a woman that by all means your satisfaction is guaranteed since they asked "What would you do if I came in to return an already burned candle, would you give me a refund or say sorry we cant take it back." I knew that they have a 100% money back guarantee policy so I nailed that answer. The interview is NOTHING to be nervous about. Mines was a huge discussion and it literally felt like it. After the interview was done, they told me that they'd call us by October 21st and I got a call back Oct. 11th and the Interview was October 1st. I was so excited and he offered me a $9.50 hourly rate which is more than perfect due to New York's minimum wage of $7.25. I begin training on Thursday October 17th. Due to this being a brand new store, I have to train at a different B&BW in the city. But I'm extremely excited !
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions I remember (not necessarily hard)
1) If we were to call your past manager, what would they say is a positive and negative about your work performance?
2) Why do you want to work for B&BW?
3) If someone was to come in with an already burned candle in which they just didn't like the smell once burned, how would you handle that?
