I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bitrefill in Sep 2024
Interview
In the internship description, the hiring process consisted of a recorded interview, a JavaScript test, an HR interview, a technical interview, references, and an offer. I passed the first three stages, but during the HR interview, an unexpected step was added: another test to recreate a simpler version of Bitrefill's frontend in four hours. They were very flexible about how it should be done, but this second test wasn't mentioned in the original hiring process.
Since I was interested in the internship, I did my best and delivered before the deadline. When I asked about the result the following week, I was told everyone was traveling to Barcelona, so I likely wouldn’t receive an answer for two weeks. After that time, they chose to move forward with another candidate. I didn't receive specific feedback on my code assignment, even though the rejection email mentioned, "If you have any questions or would like further feedback on your application, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly."
I reached out to ask for feedback on the code assignment—specifically what I could have done differently, whether I should have prioritized code quality over the time constraint, etc—but I only received a generic response.
