The interview process itself was fine — the people I met were professional and the format was well structured. However, after attending an in-person interview I received absolutely no follow-up. No decision, no rejection, nothing.
I followed up myself — no reply. I then sent a direct email expressing my disappointment at the lack of communication — again, no reply. Two months on, the portal still shows my application as "in progress."
For a firm of BlackRock's size and standing, this is a poor way to treat candidates. Attending an in-person interview requires real time and effort, and the very least you can expect in return is a clear answer either way. A templated rejection email takes seconds to send.
Would make me think carefully before applying again, and I'd encourage others to factor in that candidate communication appears to be very low on their priority list.
