I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BlackRock (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2016
Interview
1st Round = Two 3 minute recorded videos (I HATED this)
2nd Round = One 30 minute Skype call
3rd Round = Super Day
The 1st round is incredibly awkward, and was very difficult for me to display passion, emotion or even intelligence. Staring at a camera is not the same thing as staring at a person.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BlackRock (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2015
Interview
I applied online on the corporate website. About 4 weeks later, the firm sent me an invitation email to its special website where I was given some interview questions and had to record answers for each question for about two minutes. I was able to reanswer the questions several times and after a week, I received a virtual interview Blackrock employees on an application much similar to Skype.
