I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Block (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
I was approached by a recruiter through Linkedin. Square has a very standard tech interview process. First spoke with the recruiter on a short call talking about my past experiences and so on. Next was a technical phone screen with an engineer with a simple programming question. After was an invitation to come onsite for a full day interview that consisted of 3 pair programming exercises, lunch, a design session and a one on one with a manager. My partners for the pair programming exercises were great and were more than willing to help and answer my questions. Overall great experience.

The interviewers are usually really nice and want you to do your best.
The interviewer was nice, and he is friendly and willing to give hint, the question has 2 follow-ups, it was hard to complete in time. The question was not a typical LeetCode
Phone screen and then a full day of interviews. 3 pair programming challenges, a system design review and a prior experience interview. There was also an onsite lunch with a person from the company.
