Got invited to schedule an interview and before I could pick a time, less than 24 hours later I was sent a rejection email saying, "It was a pleasure speaking with you recently and learning more about your skills and experience. After evaluating them against our needs for this position, we decided to move forward with other candidates.".
I followed up to inquire noting we had not spoken yet and that I was in the process of choosing a time but I never heard back and they just ghosted me. Seems like a fairly unprofessional company overall because the only two options are either they did not mean to send me an interview request and still sent me the wrong rejection letter, or they did mean to send me an interview request and didn't like that I didn't respond to it immediately and still, again, sent me the wrong rejection email and proceeded to ghost me.

Interview
Interview process was the following flow:
1. External Recruiter screen.
2. Hiring manager interview
3. Take-home assignment
4. Review assignment outcomes with Hiring Manager
5. CEO (but was 2 different conversations b/c of running out of time on the 1st)
CEO called 2 of my references and ghosted (didn't even show or reschedule) for the 3rd. Classless and unprofessional.

Interview
Very young CEO, who doesn't really know how to lead an interview, nor how to build an organization. Questions were embarrassing. He didn't even understand the roles and responsibilities of a senior HR person.
