I recently applied for the AM position advertised online. The job description focused on skills in project management, client communication, and experience in a creative agency environment. These skills aligned well with my background, so I submitted my application.
Surprisingly, I received a rejection email a few hours later. The email stated they were seeking a candidate with immediate availability and extensive experience in FMCG branding/packaging, which wasn't mentioned in the original job description.
This experience highlights the importance of clear job descriptions. Having a more accurate description upfront could save applicants and the company valuable time.
It would be beneficial for future applicants if the job description clearly outlines any specific industry experience requirements, alongside the general skills mentioned. This allows applicants to better assess their suitability for the role before investing time in crafting an application.
I'm very disappointed and I consider this as a negative experience with the company and the way that they handled the hiring process.
