I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg Industry Group
I applied through the company site and was invited to schedule a phone screening with a Senior Recruiter a few weeks later. I scheduled, and confirmed, a time and the recruiter did not show up to the call. Only after sending an email to the recruiter a day later to rescind my interest did I receive a message saying they were moving forward with other candidates. Very unprofessional.
- When you have a moment, can you please schedule a time that is most convenient for you?

they asked me to simulate stock markets with data structures, in which you could retrieve the price of a stock, or add a new one. the interviewer helped me along the way and explained the question very well

The interview process was pretty standard (2 rounds of technical interviews and 1 round of HR), and it was well-organized. The recruiters were very responsive and the interviewers were very nice.
- Standard leetcode and algorithms questions
I recently joined Bloomberg and still in my probation period of 6 months, hate my role here and the red tape within the org, I have secured a good role outside and looking to resign soon, my contract has 1 month notice period, however it also mentions that company can give me 1 week notice and let me go with written notice. I just want to understand if I resign, do I need to do 1 week notice or 1 month notice, need to plan my move to new employer accordingly. Thanks!
What are the consequences for quitting with a less than 1 month notice?

2 easy to medium problems, and no follow up questions or improvements asked in the interview. But just got an automated mail as not selected without any reason or interview feedback.
- 2 easy to medium difficulty problems.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Arlington, VA
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg Industry Group (Arlington, VA) in May 2023
Was contacted by a recruiter who then scheduled a phone screen and passed candidacy on to hiring manager. Was told I would interview with one person, then switched to another, when I signed on it was the original person. Very rushed and distracted, told me about position and gave opportunity to ask questions. Was then passed along for a "panel interview." Calendar invitation sent for a 1 hour time block. Signed on to see the same hiring manager I had originally interviewed with and an hr representative. They wanted to confirm I had already interviewed with "others." I confirmed that I had not. They then realized the "others" were scheduled right after them. They asked good questions and then proceeded to type into chat with each other the entire time I answered each one, often making odd facial expressions. The next round with two team members was a much better experience. More information about the actual job and no typing during my answers, they were sitting with their computers on a table and looking at a separate screen to make eye contact with me. When I didn't hear feedback within 3 days I signed into the careers portal to check my application status to find that I was "not selected." Fair enough. But no email at least after 3 interviews? No doubt the typing in chat impacted my focus and ability to answer the questions, and perhaps that is a requirement of the job to not be impacted by those things, but to me it's just not good etiquette and upon further consideration of the experience am glad I was passed over.
- Summarize your experience. Why are you interested in this position? Describe approach to managing a large project. What would team members you've worked with say about you?

I applied online. I interviewed at Bloomberg Industry Group (Arlington, VA) in May 2023
The interview itself was fine. An email from HR with some screening questions, then 3 interviews and a writing assignment. I got through the first two interviews. The 3.5 hour long writing assignment was given after the second interview. I was told it was due "before the third one" without any indication if it meant it just had to be turned in within a certain amount of time before the third interview once it was scheduled or if the third interview was dependent on how you did on your assignment. When I asked for clarification, I got no response, so I completed it and turned it in. No response, and no response to my follow up email. After 1.5 hours of interview and 3.5 hours of writing assignments, not to mention the time spent preparing for the interview, a "sorry you weren't selected" email would be the least I'd expect. Don't work in HR if you don't want to send bad news emails. Extremely disrespectful of my time and effort.

Recruiting coordinator reached out with an availability request after submitting an application. The interview was half an hour with the hiring manager. A couple weeks later the same recruiting coordinator reached out with another availability request for another interview with the same hiring manager. About two hours before that interview, they canceled the event with no explanation. They did not follow up with an explanation for the cancellation, despite me sending couple of emails. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

Think boss is lying..asked boss in new job about Bloomberg access as I had it in my previous job so she said that she would ask and see if they could transfer someone's license while they're on mat leave over by asking someone. Then I asked a few days later and she sounded reluctant to ask for it and said that I should just use what they have and see if I need anything on top so I asked whether they could transfer it so she said that she would put in an ask. (Tbc)
Several days later (4-5 days) I asked whether she had managed to speak to the team and she didn't say who or whether she spoke to anyone, just some vague "they can't just delete it". This seemed fishy as my old job allowed Bbg transfers... So I got in touch with Business Management and they haven't said anything about it not being allowed (yet!). Usually she's nice but sometimes she gives me looks when I ask for something

It’s more like a Campus recruiting. On-site interviews are very convenient. Most likely to be cousin questions, and some BQ. Nice experience nice people. Would be glad to try again in the future.
