      Entry Level Electrical Engineer Interview

      Aug 12, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Arlington, TX
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Boeing (Arlington, TX) in Jul 2017

      Interview

I went to a hiring event Boeing had in my area and talked to the assigned managers for my job area. I was then scheduled for a phone interview the following week and it covered STAR based interview questions. There were about 5 or 6 questions and I felt pretty good about them until the last 2, which kind of threw me off so I thought I wouldn't get the job, but a week later I got a call and an offer for that position and accepted it.

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Boeing (Albuquerque, NM) in Mar 2021

      Interview

Received a direct email from the hiring manager to schedule an interview call with a panel of 4 people. Very pleasant experience during the whole phone call. Questions consisted of a mix between behavioral questions and technical questions from the lead engineer on the panel. Technical questions pertained to stuff on my resume like software used and how it was used to personal projects and how they were done. Answered with detail to all the questions asked. Behavioral questions were similar to the questions posted here about working with difficult team members, overcoming technical challenges at work, etc.. This interview was very different than the typical STAR method interview with only behavioral questions asked. HR asked behavioral while the lead engineer asked technical questions.

      Question 1

Describe a time you overcame a technical challenge at work? how did you approach it and what was the result. Describe a time you received negative criticism at work, how did you react etc... How did you use modelsim for this FPGA project? Describe your analog circuits experience and what relevant courses did you have?

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Boeing (Saint Louis, MO) in Mar 2017

      Interview

I only had one phone interview with two managers. They asked about five behavioral interview questions about my skills and experience. The questions were fairly basic but I was well prepared. One manager even asked about alumni who were working at the same site. Overall it was a very comfortable interview experience.
