      Interview

HR Screen: ask why you want to work at Bolt and your experience Tech Screen: medium LC type question with strings that I had never seen before. Managed to pass it Onsite: 1. Career overview with a manager, they ask you about your resume and general behavioural questions. Manager looked like he just got off his Peloton 2. System design - medium difficulty question, I answered something with websockets. 3. Medium LC question but it's one of the harder mediums that are uncommon. I bombed this one Got an email a few days after that they're passing and would not give specific feedback. They seemed very happy to be working at Bolt and were glowing at the Forever 21 partnership. Wonder how many of them work there now lol

      Interview

Typical initial phone call with recruiter then onto the technical screening. The technical screening was pretty standard. The interviewer introduces himself and tells me what he does then goes over my resume. Upon initial impression, he didn't seem very interested or was maintaining a poker fish. Overall a nice guy but the synergy wasn't quite there. The problem he gave me was something like a 2D array with a robot starting at the top left of the grid traveling to the bottom right of the grid. Find all the possible paths and sum up the total paths. I solved the problem through recursion but apparently the interviewer didn't like approve of my interviewing process. It was the first time in awhile since I've interviewed so my interview "manners" wasn't at its peak that day. Be warned, the feedback he gave me was to whiteboard first and go over possible solutions before coding. Getting the solution alone is not enough, at least in this case.
