I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at BorgWarner in Aug 2008
Interview
Applied through my school's career services site. Was called by an HR generalist and had a short phone interview of about 15-20 mins. General interview questions: What did you do in this situation? Why this company? What would you do here? etc. Then set up another phone interview with the manager of the department. This interview was much less formal. Started with a few general questions then the conversation turned to leisure activities. About a week later I was flown to the plant to meet with everyone and given a tour. At this point I had already received an offer but was told to wait until I was able to see the plant and get a feel for the place before accepting.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No abnormal questions. Since it was over the phone i couldn't tell but it seemed like they had a general list of questions that you're likely to get from any interview.
It was a smooth interview process and everyone was very nice. Easy to ask questions and clear about role and responsibilities. They have a lot of opportunities for college students looking for experience
The interviwer mainly asked about projects and one question from C programming, because the intern position was for embedded systems/software engineer . The C programming question was to use pointers to traverse an array of numbers and compute the sum. The interview went quite well. There was also a written test prior to interview
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at BorgWarner (Auburn Hills, MI) in Feb 2022
Interview
Interview with recruiter who asked general questions and provided information about the role. Then interview with manager who gave more details. Afterwards I was given an offer letter and options for the start date.
