I interviewed at Boys Town (Omaha, NE)
The whole thing was just an email from HR after I applied and then a phone interview. The phone interview wasn't a very good experience. The recruiter seemed annoyed the entire time like she was trying to rush me along through my answers. I could also tell she was clearly reading word-for-word from a script the entire time, not even responding to what I was saying . She also ended things very quickly when she was done asking questions and didn't even give me the opportunity to ask any. I wanted to know about the day-to-day, why the job is listed, what kind of projects I'd be doing, but I didn't get the chance to ask. Finally before she ended the call she said she'd give me an update early next week, but that update never came.
- Do you have experience with social media?
- Are you familiar with design programs like Adobe Photoshop?

Very calm and relaxed process. A lot of questions relating to youth behaviors and response scenarios. Manager was very straight forward. Only one interview necessary. Interview wasn't bad at all.
- How would you respond to two youth who are fighting.

I applied online. I interviewed at Boys Town
I had a preliminary phone interview and then had two virtual interviews after. The first virtual was held with the person who ended up being my supervisor’s supervisor and the second interview was with my actual supervisor. Everyone was very welcoming and professional during the interview process!
- They asked about what superpower I would want if I could have one- I hate these types of questions!

I interviewed at Boys Town
Online verbal and written questions through an online platform. took around 35 minutes. You are given a 30 second or so time before answering the verbal questions, no video only audio.
- describe relevant experience working with children with behavioral issues.

I interviewed at Boys Town
The process took about 5 weeks. There was a phone interview with HR specialist, then into an interview with the hiring manager. Friendly HR interviewer. The process went smoothly. The manager was friendly and overall very professional.
- How well do you know in a team environment?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. I interviewed at Boys Town in Apr 2021
The interview process included two online interviews. One was simply a recording in which you answered questions through discussion & typing. The next phase was a pannel interview. Speaking over the computer was a great experience! Interview questions ranged from scenarios, information, and personal questions.
- Why do you want to work for Boystown? Can you tell us about your experience working with youth?

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Boys Town
Very friendly down to earth and attention to inattention to detail when it comes to description of said position even the security stuff up front was very personable and seemed like they were really kind people
- Just your regular generic interview questions interviewer and I seemed to get further with the interview based off just regular conversation and experiences and then the questions given like any interview ever

Anonymous Employee
I applied online. I interviewed at Boys Town
It was an online video interview. Very impersonal but also somewhat calming. Not being able to see uneasy faces helped. Also on the other hand I like to know if the employer seemed eager to employ an individual. They responded to the interview within a week.
- How would you feel going into an unsafe neighborhood?

Anonymous Employee
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Boys Town in Sep 2019
Took About 3 weeks, Did a one way interview, then I was offered an in person interview, then 1 weeks later received a call with a job offer. The background check takes the longest
- Good Interview, not the give me a "give me a scenario kind of questions" it was more like a chat and discussion about my background which I appreciated

Anonymous Employee
I applied online. I interviewed at Boys Town
Completed a telephone interview with recruiter that was excellent. Very professional and valuable part of the process. The issues occurred after that. Poor experience with hiring manager. He called me and offered the job. I was unable to answer due to meeting with a client. When I called him right back there was no answer. I called multiple times. No answer. Left several messages. Sent an email directly to him. Two weeks later I received a generic email that the job was already filled. How do you call someone offering the job then become unresponsive and provide no contact for weeks and say it's been filled? Very unprofessional and I'm sure to have been better off not working there. Especially after reading through reviews.
- Behavior questions
