We want to strike a balance in our interview process that is transparent, efficient, and respectful of candidates. Your feedback highlights several areas where we fell short of these goals:
Transparency: We regret not providing clear outlines for each interview stage. We usually share the next steps at the end of our phone screen conversation. Moving forward, we will ensure that candidates are continually updated about the next steps throughout the entire process.
Length: Multiple lengthy interviews can be exhausting, so we are improving our interview process to streamline it and make it more efficient and considerate of candidates' time. We have used your feedback to implement more efficient interview processes for our recent position searches, and they have been working well.
Requirements: We apologize for the discomfort caused by the recording segment. We involve students in our hiring process, and given their schedules with schools and extracurriculars, we ask candidates if they can record their responses to student questions so we can share them with a panel of our students who can meet when they're available. We will reevaluate how we can get our students' voices involved in the process while keeping our candidates' comfort in mind.
Communication: It is unacceptable that there was a significant delay in our communication after the interviews. With our new team, we've discussed ways to ensure all candidates hear back from our team promptly once decisions are made, and we're excited to put them into practice with the new positions we've launched.
Handling: We are sorry that the rejection call added to your frustration. We often call candidates who have gone through the process as a courtesy. Moving forward, we will ask candidates about their communication preferences and provide updates via that preference.
