The process consisted of 2 phone calls and 4 in person/video interviews with various members of the team and finally a writing/data analysis assignment. Everything was well organized and thorough. They make sure its a good fit both in terms of experience and culture.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why CB Insights? 'Tell me about a time' type of questions....mostly standard interview questions.
3 rounds:
(1) Phone interview with your potential manager. Typical first round type stuff but fit is important.
(2) in-person interviews: one interview with two analysts for a fit interview and one with the leader (vp).
(3) take home - they send you a data set and essentially ask you to write up an article in 3 business days.
Overall, the process moved quickly - from first touch point (recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn) to job offer happened in about 6 weeks.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CB Insights (New York, NY) in Sep 2017
Interview
applied online through their website after reading their research for a while. Received an email about scheduling a phone interview. went through my resume, why i wanted to work at CBInsights etc. Was told that they were finishing up first round interviews with the rest of the candidates but that i would hear back about next steps within the next few days. A few days later got a generic rejection letter saying that they decided to go forward with another candidate with a better background/experience. I was obviously disappointed that they didn't even decide to move me forward to the next round to do the short assignment because the firm seemed really great. Asked for feedback about what I could've done better/what I could do to better myself as a candidate and didn't hear anything back.
