COUP started to offer e-scooters in Berlin and Paris. The company belongs to BOSCH.
There are still people around who work for BOSCH. Some will stay and change their contract, others will leave and be substituted by new employees.
The interview process started with a phone interview where I talked to an internal recruiter. The person described the job, company and already asked for compensation and vacation.
The software has been developed abroad by a contractor who will no longer continue. That is why COUP is looking for employees.
I was given a programming task (small application, similar to an unpaid feature development) which I had to submit within a week.
The on-site interview took place with the team lead and another developer. After they finished two other non-German developers from another team talked to me in a more technical fashion. The overall interview took about 2 hours.
The Office is quite big and modern and located at Friedrichstrasse.
It became quite obvious that COUP is still in a starting phase which has to proof their concept to the mother company BOSCH. The interviewers clearly communicated that deadlines have to be met and are not up for negotiation. Part-time employment is not in their interest.
