It was fine but a little weird. I made it through 3/4 interviews. The first was a typical HR screen (go through each job on your LinkedIn, why you left those jobs), why you want to work here, etc. the next two interviews were technical. First covered Q&A for JS and live coding exercises. Study up on https methods, common FE security code concerns, string and dom manipulation. Then there was a 6 hour take home project in React. The 2nd tech interview covered Q&A about web sockets, CSS, and a live iteration on the take home project. Overall, the people were kind and the company seemed cool. The weird part is that I wasn’t ever asked any questions about myself or my last work experience. So I felt like the interviewers didn’t really get to know me as a person. Also weird: in the last tech interview the hiring manager said that they didn’t quite know what they were looking for with the role and they were still trying to figure out what skills/backgrounds were needed. I feel like that should have been sorted out before posting the job, so they could weed people out sooner. I spent about 12 hours on this process from the time I submitted my application to when I finished the 3rd round of interviews.
