      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in Nov 2021

      Interview

I wanted to leave a review for Capital One's Product Development Program because I personally benefitted a whole lot from the other super long review left below. I applied in September 2021 and recently went through the interview process (about 3-4 weeks total). For the very first stage of the interview (case study), just thoroughly review what the person has written below because I reviewed the interview questions and I got the same questions and the same case study. Of course, still review all of the materials and the products they give you, but chances are, the questions are going to be similar. Now, the second interview is where it gets a bit tricky. Like others have mentioned, you interview for 3 consecutive hours with 3 different people for product dev, business analyst, and product design. Product dev focuses on how you can problem-solve. For me, they asked me to redesign the Virginia DMV experience. The interviewer shared a case study and then wrote down our conversation on a google doc. They definitely walk you through the process but they want a clear step-by-step explanation from identifying key problems to ideation. The business analyst is more quant involved. They also gave me a case study and asked me to find the profit margin and breakeven analysis. They actually provide a lot of material (youtube video and example case study on their website) so be sure to do some research. Also, don't worry if you feel lost or confused. The person who interviewed me was really kind and I asked a lot of clarifying questions. Product design is a bit more personal. They ask you about a project you worked on from a product dev perspective. They will probably bombard you with a bunch of questions. And by your third interview, you are probably exhausted, hungry and your brain will be steaming. The interviewer straight up told me I was his third interviewee (back to back, just like me). It was clear that he was uninterested and not listening well. He kept asking the same questions when I had already shared my answer from his earlier mentions. It was quite annoying, frankly. Holistically, it was a super arduous process, but at least they prepare you well and don't ghost you. I got a call from the recruiter today and I appreciated them letting me know my rejection via phone call. I just wanted to share this info with future interviewees because I really benefitted from that anon's post my first round so I hope this prepares you well for your second round! Good luck everybody!!!!
