I applied online in 2023.
First we had a 15min call to get to know each other, they assessed my English and shared details about the job.
Then I got a test task (to make a presentation) and was invited for an in person interview to Dresden, which took 1,5-2h. I quickly got positive feedback and an offer.

Zwei Video-Meetings, persönliche Vorstellung, dann des Unternehmens und Vorstellung der Aufgaben im Job. Assessment der englisch sprachfähigkeiten durch eigene Vorstellung auf englisch . Beim letzten Gespräch dann Gehaltsverhandlung. Danach das Angebot, das ich abgelehnt habe.

Alles lief gut, bis auf die Gehaltsfrage. Obwohl PHDs mit „competitive pay“ gelockt werden, wird deutlich unterhalb des Tarifs geboten. Ein phd sei nichts besonderes.
