I applied online. Overall process took 2 months including technical interview and a teaching demonstration.
After that, when the terms and conditions of the employment were discussed I was emailed a job offer. That looked like a real scam! I have never seen anything like that. There were no position title, job description, work hours/conditions, benefits, RRSP. Absolutely nothing. That's an embarassment to send such thing to a person who spend his/her personal time on difficult and lengthy interview process! When I asked to add these basic details that were discussed at the time of the interview, nobody replied. Probably they found somebody who accepted this humiliating contract. This college most likely has the same contract agreement for those who apply for faculty and those who apply for janitor position. So, they don't even bother changing anything. What a shame. A person signing this kind of a contract probably has no self-esteem and/or is in a very desperate situation.
Even survival jobs that are paid with a minimum wage include all basic details. But not in this case. Don't you think that people with high level of education/experience will actually read the job offer before signing it?
